Access 4 U was appointed to provide the access scaffolding required for refurbishment works at Alma Leisure Park in Chesterfield. The scaffold was erected around the building to give the project team access to every area of the refurbishment as the programme progressed.
The access challenge
On a refurbishment, the scaffold has to serve the existing building as it stands, and often several trades working in different areas at once. At Alma Leisure Park, the scale of the building meant one large access scaffold had to give the project team access to all the areas the works covered, without becoming a constraint on the wider programme.
Access 4 U’s approach
Access 4U planned and erected the scaffold around the requirements of the refurbishment, giving the site team access to the areas needed for the works.
The scaffold package was delivered with a focus on safe access, coordination and keeping the access provision aligned with the wider construction programme.
Progress
At the time of Access 4 U’s project update, refurbishment works were ongoing, with the large access scaffold in place supporting the project team.
The scheme added another commercial refurbishment project in Chesterfield to Access 4 U’s portfolio and marked the start of a working relationship with a new client.
